Medicare Physicals Covered

Beginning January 1, 2011, Medicare began to cover the cost of preventive medical exams.  Previously, the coverage was offered only as a “Welcome to Medicare Exam” during the first year of joining Medicare.  Now after the first year, Medicare recipients are eligible for a wellness exam every 12 months.

There is usually no co-pay for this exam. You will be charged a co-pay for an office visit and an EKG, if you need the EKG to evaluate any health issues at the time of your wellness exam.  At the end of the exam, you will be given a checklist of suggestions you should consider to maintain a strong and healthy lifestyle.

If you are not a Medicare recipient, you should check with your health insurance provider to see if your coverage includes wellness exams and/or physicals.

Dr. Tulloch is Now Accepting New Patients

Dr. Michael Tulloch is now accepting new patients. In addition to being is a board-certified Internist and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, Dr. Tulloch is also on staff at Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, NY.   Dr. Tulloch also participates in most insurance plans.
