AVERY NETS TWO GOALS AS SALMON RIVER DROPS P-H 3-1

MASSENA ROLLS VS. MALONE: TOP SEED FOR PLAYOFFS

Massena got goals from Dominic Valencius and Narissa Lacliar, while also getting an added goal tipped in by Malone.  Taylor Bacon made seven saves in net for the Red Raider shutout.
 

CHATEAUGAY UPENDS MALONE 2-1 IN NON-LEAGUE CLASH


Chateaugay goaltender Amanda Wilcox snags the ball while under fire from Malone's Brittany Marshall (10) in the crease area in front of the Bulldogs' net.  Wilcox made six saves. The Bulldogs, who finished tie for the East Division title with St. Lawrence Central, defeated their neighboring Class A rivals, the Franklin Academy Lady Huskies 2-1 in a non-league game on Monday.  It was the only soccer game across Section X, which prepared to open girls playoffs on Tuesday.  (Kyle Coryea photo)  Game Gallery

Chateaugay's Marrissa Cook (9) and Malone's Kelsey Johnson (15) battle for the ball in game that often got quite physical.  Nikki Cooke Paige netted both goals on assists from Section X all-time scorer Katie Hamelin, including the game winner to go ahead 2-1 in the 68th minute.  Brittany Marshall scored for Malone.  Abby Premo made 13 saves for Malone.
 

MASSENA CLAIMS SHARE OF FIRST BEATING WILDCATS


Massena's (15) tries to stiff arm Gouverneur's (3) in a rush for the loss ball.  The Red Raiders jetted to a 4-0 win behind Dominic Valancius' goal and an assist.  The victory lifted the Raiders to a season-ending 13-1 and a tie atop the Central Division with Potsdam.  (Ross Johnson photo)  Game Gallery

Gouverneur goalkeeper Nictoria Bates squares up to field the midrange line drive shot on goal.  bates made 14 saves in the Wildcat net.  Allie Flaro, Coree Phillips and Alannah Darling all netted scores for the Raiders.  Taylor Bacon made two saves in net to collect the shutout for Massena.
 

HAMELIN SCORES 3 GOALS TO BECOME NEW ALL-TIME SCORER

Chateaugay’s Raquel Fowler (17) controls the ball while shielding off Salmon River’s Emily Fritz (4).  Nikki Cooke-Paide aided Hamelin's cause with an assist, plus two goals of her own.  Marissa Cooke and Philiciia LaBare added goals for the Bulldogs.  Calandra Curleyhead netted a first-half goal and Joelle Porter netted a second-half marker for Salmon River.
 

MASSENA BLANKS TUPPER 3-0 TO CLINCH 2ND IN CENTRAL

HAMELIN CLOSES ON SCORING MARK AS BULLDOGS WIN 7-1


Chateaugay's Katie Hamelin brings the ball in and scores from inside the 18-yard box for one of her three goals in the game. St. Regis Falls goaltender Aleesha LaBounty scoots back in an attempt to stop the shot off a cross and deflects the ball away.  LaBounty made 14 saves between the white posts.  The Saints' Hayley Fye slammed the game's first goal, but it was all Chateaugay after that.  Tara Dominic, Marissa Cook, Amanda Johnston and Nikki Cooke-Paige all scored a goal.
 

LARRIES BACK TO LEAD EAST WITH 5-0 WIN OVER JACKETS

O.F.A. COMES CLOSE TO UPSET, BUT POTSDAM PREVAILS IN O.T.


Potsdam’s Ginette Cornett (16) celebrates, but the goal was called off on a dangerous play ruling.  However, Cornett scored a short time later to tie the game at one goal apiece in the second half.  Ogdensburg led 1-0 at the half.  Potsdam scored two overtime markers to beat O.F.A. 3-1.  Potsdam improved to 10-1.  O.F.A. Ogdensburg’s Chelsea Martin (12) comes away with the ball after picking it away from Potsdam’s Tess Curry (8).  Ashley Feldt scored the Blue Devil goal from Kirsten Morley with 14 minutes remaining in the first half.  Cassie Grace and Kayla Maguire both netted goals in the second overtime to drive the win for Potsdam.  Holly Cota snared 22 saves for Ogdensburg, while Monique Cornett snapped up six saves for Potsdam.
 

WATKINS' GOAL STANDS UP:
H-D DEMONS TOP HAMMOND 1-0


Hermon-DeKalb’s Michele Watkins and Ashley Simmons swarm the lone Hammond attacker Courtney Whalen (23) and knock the ball away.  The Green Demons made their lone goal from Michelle Watkins from Courtney Bigelow stand up in a 1-0 shutout victory over Hammond.  The win elevated the Demons past the Devils into fourth place in the West.  (Eric Foote photo)  Game Gallery

Hermon-DeKalb’s Kaitlin Corscadden (4) sticks her foot in their and knocks the ball away from Hammond's Alyssa Crosby (20).  Beth Zeller made nine saves to log the shutout for Hermon-DeKalb (6-6-1, 6-8-1 overall).  Brooke Hollister turned aside nine shots for Hammond (5-5-2, 5-6-2 overall).
 

HEUVELTON TRIPS UP CLIFTON-FINE EAGLES IN 5-0 SHUTOUT

DANDROW HAT TRICK LEADS E-K COUGARS PAST MORRISTOWN

HAMELIN LEADS CHATEAUGAY IN 2-0 WIN OVER B-M PANTHERS

N-N FLYERS & TUPPER LAKE BATTLE TO EXCITING 3-3 TIE

Tupper Lake goalie Megan Duhaime gets to the ball just in time and sweeper Allysa Houle (9) assists in defending against the attack of Norwood-Norfolk's Marissa Caskinette (7) who tries to score.  Duhaime had 15 saves, while the Flyers' Kristen Foote made 14 saves. Caskinette scored a goal in the 72nd mark to give N-N a 3-2 lead, but for the third time in the game, Tupper Lake came back to tie on Carley Aldridge's goal three minutes later, with just five minutes left in the game.  Paige and Jessica Harvey scored for N-N. Shauna Practico also scored for Tupper.

MASSENA WINS SHOWDOWN
VS. POTSDAM IN 3-2 VICTORY

Massena's Nicole Johnson (11) tees up for a shot against the Sandstoner defense.  Anna Riley added a goal and an assist fore the Raiders.  Scoring for Potsdam were Kaila Maguire and Cassie Grace.  Monique Cornett stopped 12 of 15 shots for Potsdam, while Taylor Bacon turned out six of eight shots.
 

JOHNSON'S HAT TRICK LEADS BULLDOGS PAST COUGARS 3-1


Edwards-Knox's Camrie Dandrow head for the Heuvelton net being chased by Heuvelton defender Kate Lashua (22).  Heather Johnson scored three straight goals to bring the Bulldogs back from a 1-0 deficit to a 3-1 win over the Lady Cougars.

The Cougars attacked the net hard in the closing 10 minutes, trying to score the equalizer, but the Heuvelton defense closed ranks including on this shot attempt from Dandrow (6).  The Cougars defused Heuvelton's early surge when Vanessa Bullock scored midway through the first half.  Heuvelton tied the game before the half when Johnson netted her first goal.  But slippery conditions in the goal crease caused E-K goalie Madison Tressider to slip in trying to grab Johnson's second net finder with eight minutes remaining.  Johnson scored an insurance goal in the 78th minute.  With the win, Heuvelton pulled even with the Cougars for second place in the West Division.
 

AVERY'S GOAL LIFTS SALMON TO 1-0 WIN VS. B-M  PANTHERS

EDWARDS-KNOX SURVIVES LISBON COMEBACK IN 5-3 WIN

Lisbon's Chelsey Carr battles her way to get past an Edwards-Knox defender.  The Cougars built a 3-0 lead at halftime, but gave it all back when Carr tied the game in the 7th minute of the second half, after quick-start goals from Rachel Bowdish and Taylor Armstrong to start the second half.  Vanessa Bullock chipped in two goals and Abby Campbell also scored for Lisbon.

CHATEAUGAY DEALS LARRIES FIRST DIVISIONAL LOSS 2-0

In a battle for East Division supremacy, the Chateaugay Bulldogs ended the undefeated reign of the St. Lawrence Larries and jumped into a share of the division lead in a 2-0 shutout. The Bulldogs got on the board first on a Marrisa Cook goal in the 23rd minute, assisted by Raquel Fowler. During the second half, the physical nature began to intensify. The Bulldogs added an insurance marker as Katie Hamelin scored in 64th minute after a collision at the net. The ball popped free and rolled into the net for Chateaugay's 2nd goal.  The Bulldogs outshot the Larries 16-5. Amanda Wilcox made five saves for the shutout.
 

WET SPINNING GOAL LIFTS TUPPER LAKE PAST CANTON

CHATEAUGAY BLANKS MADRID- WADDINGTON JACKETS 3-0

The Bulldogs struck again in the 58th minute when Candace Fowler scored on a unassisted goal. In their home opener, the Chateaugay Bulldogs scored quickly as Candace Fowler dented the mesh in the 3rd minute of an assist from her sister Raquel. The Bulldogs added to the lead with their second goal by Marissa Cook with the assist from Philica Labare in the 15th minute. Then in the 33rd minute, Katie Hamelin scored twice to take a 4-0 lead into the break. The Bulldogs scored just two minutes into the second half on Cook's second goal of the game. Katie Hamelin finished off a hat trick in the 45th minute to extend the lead to 6-0. Hannah Easter, Nikki Cooke- Paige and Raquel Fowler each score in the final 25 minutes to wrap up a 9-0 win. The Bulldogs had 34 shots, while the Colton-Pierrepont had five opportunities on net. Colton-Pierrepont goalie Andi Lynn had 12 saves, while Bulldog goalies combined for two saves.
 

POTSDAM FENDS OFF MALONE COMEBACK ATTEMPT 5-2


Malone keeper Abbey Premo snatches the ball before Potsdam’s Ginette Cornett (16) could get a head on it.  Malone bounced back from a 3-0 deficit to draw within a goal early in the second half.  However, Cassie Grace delivered a three-goal performance, including Potsdam's momentum-changing fourth goal midway through the second half to lift the Sandstoners to a 5-2 win.
