HEUVELTON'S DONNELLY & LEONARD FIRE
BACK-TO-BACK NO-HITTERS |
|
By Bob LaRue, North Country
SportsNet
It's a rare treat to see a pitcher
thrown no-hitter, but even more rare
is when a team has two pitchers who
both throw back-to-back no-hit
shutouts in the same doubleheader!
And Heuvelton's Kara Leonard came
within a walk of hurling a perfect
game in the nightcap as the Bulldogs
beat Morristown 10-0. Casey Donnelly
hurled a no hitter and struck out 12
as Heuvelton won the opener 15-0.
Heather Johnson led the Heuvelton
hitting attack with three RBIs over
the two games. Heuvelton
improved to 4-2 in league play, 5-3
overall. Morristown dropped to
1-5, 1-6 overall.
