SARANAC, CANTON, WILDCATS TOP N.A.C. INVITATIONAL MEET


Tupper Lake long jumper thrusts forward to earn the last inches in her attempt.  Saranac Central with 76 points topped the team leaderboard.  Canton finished second at 72½, while Gouverneur took third at 58 points in the 15-team Northern Athletic Conference Invitational at St. Lawrence University.

Canton claims win in week 4; Wildcats 2nd, malone 3rd


Ogdensburg' Kaylee McCormick leads runners from Malone, Gouverneur and Norwood-Norfolk in the second lap of the 1500-meter run. The event was won by Canton's Grace Bessette with a time of 5:20.  Canton’s Grace Bessette placed first in the 1500, with teammate Emma Bentley-Hicks the best in the 3000 meters. Tupper Lake’s Tess Klossner won the 300 and triple jump. Gouverneur’s Belisena Hall produced the longest distance in the long jump. Indian River’s Makayla Jones won the 55-meter dash, while teammate Doreen Adjei fired the longest distance in the shot put. Malone’s Emily Pomainville took top honors in the 1000 meters. GOUVERNEUR CAPTURES 3RD WIN; CANTON 2ND, O.F.A. 3RD


 Tupper Lake’s Tess Klossner (black) leads runners from Gouverneur, Canton, Ogdensburg and Malone off the starting blocks in the second heat of the 55-meter dash.  Klossner won the heat, but Gouverneur's Clara Spicer won the event.  Event winners included Gouverneur’s Ciara Spicer in the 55 dash, Margeaux Simmons in the 600 and Belisena Hall the long jump. Canton’s Grace Bessette won the 1000 meters. Norwood-Norfolk’s Kaycie Saucier won the 1500, while Sydney Levison took first in the 3000. Massena’s Jacklyn Lamica won the 55 hurdles and high jump. Tupper Lake’s Tess Klossner bested the 300 and the triple jump. Indian River’s Doreen Adjei topped the shot put. Massena high jumper Jacalyn Lamica clears the bar in the girls high jump.  Lamica topped a field of eight jumpers at a height of five feet even.  The Red Raider senior finished four inches better than Malone's Macayla Perry who captured second and six inches over Canton's Olivia Craig in third.

WILDCATS EARNS FIRST MEET WIN; CANTON 2ND, MALONE 3RD


Indian River’s Doreen Adjei fires the shot with great thrust to win the girls shot put at a distance of 30 feet, one inch.  The Warriors senior was three inches farther than teammate Danielle Bohler.  Both Indian River athletes had tosses that were at least three feet farther than 36 other competitors in the field.  Gouverneur captured its first meet victory in several years.  Defending champion Canton finished second, while the Malone Huskies took third place.  (Darius Rohleder photo)  Meet Gallery
