Malone’s Emily Pomainville won the Most Valuable Runner award, while winning the 1,500, 1,000 and 3,000-meter races. Tupper Lake’s Tess Klossner, who won the long jump and triple jump, received the Most Valuable Field Athlete. Other individual champions and thus All Northerns were Potsdam’s Grace Merchant (high jump), Ogdensburg’s Courtney Stowe (55 sprint), Malone’s Breanna Sprague (55 hurdles), Massena’s Avalon Jenkins (600 meters), and Gouverneur’s Ciara Spicer (300 meters) and Alyssa Durham, who also set a new school record in the shot put. Indian River won the 800-meter relay, Massena the 1,600 and Canton the 3200-meter contest.

CANTON TRACKS DOWN 5TH MEET WIN; MALONE 2ND PLACE


For the fifth straight week, the Huskies finished second overall in the meet behind league leading Canton. Potsdam finished third.  Ogdensburg's Courtney Stowe won the 55-meter dash.  Gouverneur's Ciara Spicer captured the 300 meters, while teammate Alyssa Durham won the shot put.  Canton's Emma Bentley-Hicks topped the 600. Malone's Carissa Robistow took the 1000, while teammate Emily Pomainville topped the 1500 and the 3000 and Breanna Sprague won the 55 hurdles. CANTON TOPS WEEK 4, MALONE CLOSE 2ND, O.F.A. UP TO 3RD


A Massena competitor takes her second attempt in the shot put.  event.  Canton continued its reign at the top of the team results, but Malone closed the gap to just 6½  points in the closest finish of the season.  Ogdensburg moved up to finish third for the first time this season.  Potsdam, Massena, Norwood-Norfolk made up the middle three.  Malone's Emily Pomainville won the 1500 and 1000 runs, while Tupper Lake's Tess Klossner claimed the long jump and triple jump.

MALONE, CANTON, POTSDAM REPEAT AS TOP 3 IN WEEK 3


 Competitors from Ogdensburg, Canton and Potsdam leap over the first set of hurdles to begin the 55-meter hurdles event.  For the third straight week, Canton led the field with 158 points, while Malone repeated in second and Potsdam third.  Gouverneur, Ogdensburg and Norwood-Norfolk each moved up into fourth, fifth and sixth places. Tupper Lake moved up.  Event winners included: Canton's Grace Bessette won the 600 and 3000, while Emma Bentley-Hicks sealed the 1500.  Tupper Lake's Tess Klossner topped the 300 and the long jump.  O.F.A.'s Courtney Stowe won the 55 meters, while Breanna Hacia captured the 55 hurdles.  Malone's Emily Pomainville notched the top spot in the 1000.  Potsdam's Grace Merchant topped the high jump, while teammate Sophia Janoyan won the triple jump.  Gouverneur's Alyssa Durham flung the longest shot. In the relays, Canton won the 3200, Malone the 1600 and Gouverneur the 800.

CANTON, MALONE TOP WEEK 2; POTSDAM MOVES UP TO 3RD 


A Canton competitor takes the narrow win in this heat of the 50-meter hurdle event.  For the second week in a row, Canton and Malone placed first and second in the overall meet results.  Potsdam improved to third place, while Massena jumped up from eighth to sixth place in the results.
