Canton’s Sydney Lorenc (12) spikes the ball past Massena’s Gabrielle Durant (15) to score a point late in the first set.  Alyssa Eubank scored 15 service points, including four aces and four kills, while Tatum Lafrance collected 11 service points, including three aces, three kills and 15 assists.  Gabby Durant and Tianna Back each had five kills.

Sandstoners Spike lumberjacks in 3-1 victory


Potsdam’s Isabel Pecora (9) sets to teammate Ann Beauchamp (1) in Wednesday’s home matchup against Tupper Lake. The Lumberjacks edged out to a lead early into the first set. However, the Sandstoners came back and took the first set 25-16, then rolled through the second set 25-13, en route to a 3-1 victory.  (Francesco Palumbo photo)  Match Gallery

Tupper Lake turned up the offensive in the third set and snuck by 25-22, but Potsdam returned to its earlier form and took the fourth and final set 25-15.  Pecora led the Sandstoners with 24 points, seven aces, two kills, 32 sets and two assists.  Brooke Moore added 11 points.

Chateaugay’s Grace Harrigan (14) spikes the ball past the Massena defender Mckenzee Lazore (1).  For the Red Raiders, Mckenzee Lazore had seven service points 12 assists and seven kills. Tatum Lafrance had 17 assists, four blocks, and four kills.  Chateaugay’s Brittany Condon and Alyssa Eubank had an outstanding 19 service points each. Alyssa added 11 kills and five blocks. Tianna Back had 10 service points, seven kills and 17 digs.

OGDENSBURG shutS out CANTON bears in 3-0 victory


Canton’s Celse McAloon (30) sets the ball over the head of the Ogdensburg attacker to earn a point midway through the first set. The Blue Devils swept the Golden Bears 25-13, 25-15 and 25-21 to earn the 3-0 shut out victory.  McAloon dished up nine points and one ace, while contributing two blocks in the Blue Devils’ win. Potsdam tops M-W 3-1 in West division opener


Ann Beauchamp (1) sets up a scoring opportunity for the Sandstoners against Madrid-Waddington. Potsdam won 3-1, taking the first, second, and fourth sets in their West Division opener (2-2 overall).  Beauchamp and Rory Sixberry led the Sandstoner offense.  Eighteen points, three aces and six kills were tallied between the duo. M-W’s Breanna Bouchey (28) and Potsdam’s Camryn Mangual (7) battle at the net during Thursday’s West Division opener. The Yellow Jackets fought back after falling behind through two sets 15-25, 18-25, but took the third 25-22.  Potsdam came away with the fourth set 25-14 and the match.
