CANTON CELEBRATES FIRST WIN OF SEASON VS. POTSDAM

Canton’s Kendyll Stevenson (24) leaps to drive the ball to the court to score a point in the first set.  Canton’s upset sweep included 25-15, 25-21 and an extra 26-34 home-court win over Potsdam in the West matchup. Tianna Whitmarsh led the way for the Bears with 10 points, four aces and three assists. Angelina Vecchio contributed five points and seven assists, while Melissa Napoleoni chipped in six digs.

MASSENA COMES BACK TO BEAT TUPPER LAKE IN 4TH SET

Madrid-Waddington’s Alyssa Gagnon (27) sets the ball over the net and past Ogdensburg’s Kelsi Donaldson (10) to continue the volley midway through the first set.  The teams exchanged extra-point wins in the first two sets, 26-24 and 24-26, but O.F.A. won the final two sets 25-12, 25-13.  Donaldson punched up 18 points to lead the Blue Devils, while teammate Taylor Perry chipped in 14 service points and 10 assists.

Canton’s Ticia Yerdon (18) launches the ball over a few Brushton-Moira defenders to earn a point in the first set for the Golden Bears.  For Brushton-Moira, Jordan Niles and Ally Hooker both served up six points and contributed nine kills. Canton was led by Paige Corbine with three points and five kills, while Tianna Whitmarsh registered five points, five aces and a kill. Yerdon posted seven points, three aces and a kill.

Edwards-Knox's Hayleigh LaBarge (10) launches the ball to the Golden Bears' side past defender Ticia Yerdon (18).  Edwards-Knox captured its first league match of the season, improving to 1-2 West, 2-7 overall in defeating Canton in straight sets 25-12, 25-22 and 25-21. POTSDAM SWEEPS WILDCATS IN 3 SETS: 25-14, 25-20, 25-18

A Gouverneur attacker bumps the ball over the net looking to score a point in the first set for the Wildcats.  Potsdam went on to defeat Gouverneur in straight sets 25-14, 25-20 and 25-18.  The Sandstoners improved to 2-1 West, 5-4 overall.  Gouverneur slipped to 1-1 West, 1-7 overall.

Massena’s Jacalyn Lamica (22) spikes the ball to earn a point against Potsdam.  Massena's Tatum LaFrance tallied 13 points and 17 assists to lead the Raiders to a 25-6, 21-25, 25-9, 25-15 win over Potsdam in a crossover match in Potsdam.  Aryanna Jacobs and Tianna Back contributed 10 points for the Raiders.

Brooks tallied six points and five kills.  Salmon River (4-0) was led by Mara Lazore who cranked out 22 points, five aces, five kills and two blocks.  Raven Oakes added 12 points and 12 assists. Tsiiowisonte Laffin contributed seven service points. Simone Doelger led M-W with six points, five sets, eight digs and an ace. Ashley Curran recorded four points, two sets and one ace. Alyssa Gagnon collected six blocks and three kills. Jasmine Trombley had 10 digs.
