Potsdam’s Sarah Vivlamore (1) taps the ball over the reach of Canton’s Angelina Vecchio. Potsdam won in straight sets: 25-7, 25-16, 25-19.  Vivlamore unleashed 16 service points, nine assists, three kills and two aces to lead the Sandstoners in the three-set sweep on the road at Canton. Canton’s Angelina Vecchio (11) flicks the ball over the net as Gouverneur’s Shannon Knowlton (39) jumps to attempt a block.  After dropping the first set, Canton rebounded to win the second set, then held off a valiant third set rally by the Wildcats, in what proved to be the turning point of the match. The Bears were led by Caitlyn Wright’s 10 kills, four aces and four points. Angelina Vecchio fashioned 10 assists, 11 points, four aces and 10 assists. Audrey Thompson chipped in six kills and three points, while Lindsey Flanagan added 11 points, including four aces. For Gouverneur, Lauren Infield posted 15 points, with four aces, one kill, three sets and four digs. Alicia Way contributed 11 points, including three kills, one assist, two aces, a block and two sets. SALMON RIVER SWEEP PAST TUPPER LAKE IN THREE SETS

Salmon River’s Brittany Brooks (20) sends the ball past a Tupper Lake defender to score a point.  Salmon River swept Tupper Lake 25-13, 25-6, 25-10. The Shamrocks were led by Mara Lazore with 18 service points, five kills and 4 assists. Raven Oakes chipped in seven service points, 16 assists and five kills. Brittany Brooks added five service points and kills, while Avery Benedict registered 11 service points. Marrietta Jock and Jamie Perkins contributed four service points apiece. Salmon River improved to 5-3 East, 11-3 overall. Tupper Lake is 1-7 East, 4-10 overall.  Match Gallery

Madrid-Waddington’s Sophia Roome (24) attempts to spike the ball past Potsdam’s Sarah Vivlamore (1). For Potsdam, Izzy Pecora led the way with 20 service points, 21 sets, nine aces, four assists and two kills. Sarah Vivlamore pitched in with eight points, four aces, four kills and three sets. Elna Daby provided five points and one ace. The win pulled Potsdam (6-2, 9-5 overall) a game ahead of Madrid-Waddington (5-3, 7-7 overall) for second place in the West.

Massena defeats Brushton-Moira IN THREE STRAIGHT

Massena captured straight-set victories over Brushton-Moira 25-10, 25-11 and 25-15 to win their third straight East Division game and improve to 8-0 overall. Katelynn Malone paced the Raiders with 14 service points, three aces and two kills. Jaggers dished up up eight points and contributed four kills, while Tianna Back added six points and five kills. CANTON SQUEEZES OUT THREE SETS TO NIP EDWARDS-KNOX

The Bears won all three sets in extra-service time 27-25, 26-24 and 26-24. Caitlyn Wright led the Bears with four kills, four blocks and two service points.
