Potsdam Outlasts Malone Huskies in Five-Set Victory


 Potsdam’s Katie Burke (white) and Malone’s Janelle Heden soar up to joust at the net. Potsdam pulled out a five-set victory with a 25-15 win in the final set. Burke contributed eight points, seven kills and four blocks. Sarah Vivlamore led the Sandstoners with 10 points, four aces, one kill, 13 assists and 82 sets. Canton Bounces Back To Beat Edwards-Knox 3-1

Willmart led the Bears with 15 service points, four kills and four aces. Beth Pearson added 10 service points, seven aces and five kills. Canton improved to 3-4 West, 5-8 overall. Edwards-Knox slipped back to 3-4 West, 4-9 overall.

Massena Sweeps Madrid-Waddington in 3 Sets

Madrid-Waddington’s Dia Richards (28) spikes the ball past Massena’s Kyrsha Argus (12) giving the Yellow Jackets a chance for a comeback in the first set. However, the Red Raiders held off Madrid-Waddington 25-21 in the first set, then went on to sweep the final two sets 25-16 and 25-14. Leading the Jackets, Richards had five points, one ace, two kills and four blocks, while Sophie Roome tallied five points, one ace, two kills and three blocks. Alyssa Gagnon added three kills and two blocks. Britanni Dawley offered six assists.

O.F.A. Sneaks Past Massena 3-2 With Triple 25-23 Sets

Taylor Fisher led Ogdensburg with 13 service points and 20 kills, while Paige Perry pitched in 14 points. For the heavily-sophomore Red Raiders 4-5 overall), Cashlyn Jaggers led the way with 27 points, while Madelyn Thibeault tallied 18 points for the match.

3-2 Win Over Canton

In a seesaw match, Madrid-Waddington nailed down the tie-breaking fifth set 25-16, to defeat Canton three sets to two. M-W’s Janelle Trombley pitched in 20 service points, five aces and four digs in the win. For Canton, Beth Pearson provided 11 kills, five service points and four aces, while Cianna Willmart chipped in eight service points, seven kills and four aces. Rachel Sanders also dealt ten service points, six kills and four aces.

MASSENA WINS LONG BATTLE VS. SALMON RIVER 3 SETS TO 2

Salmon River’s Raylynn Sunday (8) returns the serve to the Massena side. Sunday chipped in 10 service points and 15 assists for the Raiders. For Massena, Sam Villnave provided nine sets and six kills. Crystal Loran added 18 points and 11 kills. Maddie Tebo chipped in 14 points and three aces, while Jackie Lamica contributed 24 sets, nine assists and 16 points. For the Shamrocks, Raven Oakes collected 14 service points and 16 kills; Brittany Brooks added 12 service points and 4 assists; Wakie Mitchell contributed 11 service points; and Taylin David delivered12 service points.

Canton Wins Final Two Sets To Beat Massena 3-1

For Massena, Samantha Villnave collected 12 points, while Cashlynn Jaggers pitched in 11 points and Nina Rourke delivered nine points. Canton improved to 3-4 overall, while Massena slipped to 4-3.

Chateaugay Continues To Roll, Sweeping Canton

A joust at the net ends in a Canton block at the net against Chateaugay. The Chateaugay Bulldogs (6-0 overall) remained the lone undefeated East Division team and one of just two unbeatens in Section X with a three-set sweep at Canton. Bailey Dowd netted 10 points for the Bulldogs. Canton was led by Cianna Willmart and Colleen Barkley who contributed five points each for the Bears who slipped to 2-4.

M-W Jackets Square Record in Sweep of Gouverneur


Madrid-Waddington’s Jennifer King gets the kill as Gouverneur’s Alisha Way tries in vain to stop the attempt. The Jackets defeated the Wildcats 3-1. Dia Richards led the Jackets with 23 service points and six aces, while Britanni Dawley contributed 16 points and five aces in the victory.

Canton Rallies From Two Sets Down To Beat Cougars

For Edwards-Knox, Nicole Hendricks had 21 points, 14 sets and eight aces. Marissa Johnson had 13 points, 17 sets and seven aces.

After Malone swept the first two sets with relative ease 25-5 and 25-14, the Raiders put up a valiant effort in the third set. After trailing 7-2, Massena tied the contest 9-9. Massena took a 15-14 lead, until Malone’s Rachel Lamica served six straight points that proved to be the turning point of the third set. Massena closed to within a point twice at 24-23, when Malone closed the door on the sweep. Fleury contributed six kills, five points and one ace in helping lead the Huskies’ attack. Krista Loran and Katelynn Malone led the offensive efforts for the Red Raiders.
