CANTON ROMPS OVER MALONE FOR FIRST WIN OF SEASON 57-9


About to be pinned, Canton-Potsdam’s Hans Kuno escapes, reverses and pins his Malone opponent to get the win. Ryan Brown, Alex Bean and Eb Foote all recorded pins for Canton-Potsdam in securing their first league win of the season, downing Malone in convincing fashion 57-9. In the 220-pound bout Malone’s Keifer Krackenberger has a Canton-Potsdam wrestler close to being pinned, but settled for a win on points. Krackenberger won the bout 7-0.  From the outset, Canton-Potsdam dominated the meet including collecting several wins by forfeit without a Malone competitor.  For the Huskies, Jonathan Boots won in the super-heavyweight class.

MASSENA OUT-WRESTLES MALONE IN 41-31 MAT VICTORY


Massena’s Nathan Marshall gets Malone’s Austin Learned to his back but was unable to get the pin. Marshall won by major decision 13-1. The Red Raiders outlasted the Malone Huskies 41-31 on Wednesday. Isaiah Perry and Hunter Perrine won by decision. Jeremy Malone at 220 pounds had a pin for Massena.

Malone’s Tehatakenta Boots gets tied up with Massena’s Nolan Terrance.  However, Boots would win with a pin in the second period of the match.  Christian Fountain (132), Ross Barber (152) and Cody Smith (170) laid pins for Malone.

MASSENA WRESTLERS NIP CANTON-POTSDAM IN 43-42 WIN


A Massena wrestler is about to get thrown to the mat in Wednesday's season-opener for Canton-Potsdam. In a thrilling finish, the Red Raiders outlasted Canton-Potsdam 43-42 for their first meet victory of the season (1-1). A Massena wrestler has the upper hand looking to get a pin against Canton-Potsdam.  Massena's Isaiah Perry came through in the clutch again, getting the crucial three-point match win int eh 126-pound class and lifting the Red Raiders to a 43-42 win.

Canton-Potsdam wrestler Eb Foote drives his Gouverneur opponent into the mat, but was unable to effect a pin as time ran out in the first period. However, Foote earned the pin in the second round. Gouverneur received pins from Aaron Bush, Zach Ayen, Brendan Ward, Kyle Bigwarfe and Brayden Wood in forging a 47-47 won over Canton-Potsdam.  The win was the eighth in a row (8-0) for the Wildcats. Canton-Potsdam fell to 3-4 in league. 

O.F.A. TIES CANTON-POTSDAM, BUT WINS MEET ON CRITERIA


The Ogdensburg Blue Devils and Canton-Potsdam Bears battled to a 33-33 tie, but O.F.A. earns the win on criteria or tie-breaker.  It was the fourth criteria (O.F.A. won seven bouts to six wins for Canton-Potsdam) that gave Ogdensburg the win.  O.F.A. got pins from Hayden LaRock (106), Bailey Phelps (152), Christian Simmons (220) and Nate Sarkin (285). O.F.A. BATTLES, BUT FALLS TO GOUVERNEUR IN MEET 31-21

Gouverneur’s Joseph Love controls Ogdensburg’s Nate Murdock with a hold.  Love would win the match 8-0 in the 138- pound weight class.  In other individual wins, O.F.A.'s Andrew Cole beat Ricky Sides on a takedown in overtime to win 3-1.  Gouverneur improved to 4-0, while Ogdensburg fell to 1-2.

WILDCATS WIN LAST 39 POINTS TO BEAT CANTON-POTSDAM


Gouverneur's Skylar Way locks up Canton-Potsdam's Alex Dean with a pin at 1:45 of the second round in the 138-pound weight class. Wildcat wrestlers racked up seven pins and scored the last 39 points of the meet to roll to a 63-12 win over Canton-Potsdam. The win kept Gouverneur undefeated at 3-0.
