AUSABLE VALLEY CAPTURES SECTION 7 & OVERALL TITLE


AuSable Valley won the overall Section VII-X boys swim meet championship with 360 points, followed by Plattsburgh at 230.  Eighth grader Alex Parras (AV) captured the 200 IM, and in the 100 backstroke broke the state record by one-tenth of a second at 45.72 seconds.  (Cody Jenne photo)

Other winners of individual events:  
For AuSable Valley: Patrick Hagadorn won the 200 freestyle, 500 free; Tim Lloyd won the 100-breaststroke; and Patriots' Eighth grader Alex Parras captured the 200 IM, and in the 100 backstroke broke the state record by one-tenth of a second at 45.72 seconds). AuSable Valley won the three relays: 200-medley, 200 freestyle and 400 free-relays   Plattsburgh's Cohen Fitzwater topped the 100 freestyle.

LOWVILLE SWEEPS CARTHAGE IN DOUBLE DUALS SWIM MEET


Swimmers from Canton-Lisbon-Potsdam, Lowville and Carthage fly off the starting platforms to begin one of 50-yard race.  Lowville went on to sweep Carthage 113-54, and Canton 121-46. Carthage out-swam Canton 103-46. (Bob LaRue photo)

Among the winners: Lowville's Cody Kempney topped the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle. Colin Kempney won the 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke Jonathan Stewart captured the 200 freestyle. Andre Meleshchuk placed first in the 500 free.and Zane Metzler won the 100 backstroke. Canton’s Luis Rodriguez-Guerrero won the 50 freestyle by one-100th of a second over Lowville’s Sam Gillette.  Lowville captured two of three relays – the 200 medley and 400 freestyle Carthage won the 200 freestyle relay.
