GOUVERNEUR REPEATS AS DIVISION II CHAMPIONS

Perrine's career has spanned 25 years of coaching, including two decades as varsity coach. Perrine coached 126 Section X champion wrestlers, including six who won over 100 bouts, four more over 90 wins, and three with over 80. Malone's Spencer Rabideau turns over Massena's Corey Jarrett in the opening seconds of the match to earn the quick pinfall and extend the Huskies overall lead over the Red Raiders.  At 145 pounds, the Huskies’ Luke Pearsall defeated Nolan Jensen by pin at 0:22.   In the 172-pound match, Malone’s Logan Robideau pinned Taka Thompson,late in the second round.   At 215 pounds, Malone’s Cooper Funk won by pin over Darrien Pastomerlo-Coates at 1:22.   And in the 285-pound bout, Massena’s Roy Gamble prevailed by pin over Damien Perrea. Mashaw picked up the win over Rozler in a 8-3 decision.  The Wildcats captured the overall meet win, beating the Golden Bears 57-9.  In other contested bouts, at 110 pounds, Gouverneur’s J.D. Minckler pinned Canton’s Noah Curry at the 41-second mark.  At 126, Canton’s Ezra Williams posted Canton’s only mat points with a 9-6 win over Ryan Mashaw.  In the 132 pound class, The Wildcats’ Zoey Griffith won by pinfall over Conner Clifford at 1:30.  At 138, Gouverneur’s Cyler (Kyler) Baer secured a pin against Nick Locy at 1:30.  At 152, Wildcat Hunter Mashaw downed Graham Rozler in an 8-3 decision.  At 172 pounds, Drew Gates captured a pin for the Cats, beating Konner Hamilton at 1:46.  At 189, Gouverneur’s James Hayden pinned Kaleb Murcray at 3:05. MASSENA TIES UP FIVE PINS
TO DOWN OGDENSBURG 39-24


At 160 pounds, the Red Raiders' Colden Hardy pins Ogdensburg's Marko Skamperle at the 0:51 mark of the second round.  Massena used five early pins to build a 39-0 lead.  Ogdensburg netted three pins and a forfeit for its 24 points.  Massena improved to 2-1 in league play with a 39-24 victory.  Nolan Jensen, Dugga Thompson and Roy Gamble also held pins for the Raiders. At 132 pounds, the Blue Devils' Joseph Green pins Massena's  Corey Jarrett at the 1:01 mark.  With pins by Ashton Amo (138) and Kierce Whitney (118), O.F.A. scored the final 24 points of the meet, but came up short 39-24.
